Independent contractors, licensing and certification
Phoenix Water Damage Restoration operates as a dispatch and referral service for water damage calls in Phoenix and Maricopa County. It performs no extraction, no drying, no cleaning and no reconstruction of any kind. Each request is assigned to an independent, licensed local partner, ordinarily the nearest such company with crew capacity at the time of the call, and that company is solely responsible for the inspection it performs, the estimate it issues, the equipment it operates, the personnel it sends and the quality of its work.
No Arizona contractor classification covers the mitigation stage, that is, the removal of water, the operation of drying equipment and the recording of moisture readings, so no state licence exists to be held for it. Repair and reconstruction performed after drying, including gypsum wallboard, texture, paint, flooring and framing, is carried out under the Arizona Registrar of Contractors licence held by the assigned company, subject to the statutory exemption for small jobs below a state dollar limit. Technicians may additionally hold certifications issued by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification, a private industry body and not a government agency. Phoenix Water Damage Restoration and this website hold no contractor licence and no industry certification whatsoever, and assert none.
On request, a customer is given the Registrar of Contractors licence number held by the assigned company, together with the certifications of the technicians attending. The request may be made by telephone on (833) 490-5225 at any hour of the day or night, or put to that company directly when it calls ahead to arrange access. Publication of those identifiers on this website is withheld to protect the privacy of an independent business. Any number supplied in that way may be verified against the Registrar's public records before reconstruction is authorised.
Ask for the ROC number on your first call (833) 490-5225

Safety around water damage
Standing water can hide live electrical circuits: do not walk into a flooded room until power to that area is off. Sewage and floodwater (IICRC Category 3) can carry bacteria and viruses; keep children, pets and anyone with a weak immune system away, and do not handle contaminated materials without protection. Visible mold larger than a small patch should be assessed before anyone disturbs it. When in doubt, leave the area and call a professional.
Licensing, standards and insurance
Contracting work in Arizona is regulated by the Arizona Registrar of Contractors (ROC), which licenses the trades that carry out repairs. Arizona has no separate state licence for water mitigation or for mold remediation. The IICRC S500 (water damage) and S520 (mold remediation) standards are industry guidance, not government licenses. Insurance coverage is decided by your insurer under your policy; nothing on this Site is a promise of coverage or of a claim outcome, and information here is a summary, not legal or insurance advice.
